The Largest Galaxy: IC 1101

The Largest Galaxy: IC 1101

Hi Guys, we all know how big is our solar system. Lets take an example of Jupiter, it is the fifth planet from Sun whose mass is one-thousandth that of the Sun and two and a half of all the other planets in the Solar system combined. And if we talk about Earth it would take 1.3 million earth to fill up the Sun. So you can imagine how vast is our galaxy (Milky Way) which contains our solar system.

But there is one Galaxy named IC 1101 which makes Milky Way galaxy look like dwarf. So lets check out some cool facts about this massive galaxy IC 1101.

1) Its Diameter

The diameter of the Galaxy IC 1101 is about 6 million light years which is around 60 times the size of Milky way. Milky Way diameter is 100,000 light years and it would take us one year to travel one light year at the speed of light.

2) How far it is from earth

Galaxy IC 1101 is located at one billion light years from Earth, pretty far huh!!!

3) How many stars can fit into IC 1101 galaxy?

The answer is 100 trillion stars...WTF!!!!

4) What if you replace Milky Way with IC 1101?

IC 1101 will include our galaxy (Milky Way), the large and small Magellanic clouds, Andromeda and Triangulum galaxy. By the way Andromeda itself contains 200 billion stars.

Now the real question is how it all started???
